As a wedding photographer who captures hundreds of weddings per year, I learned that most brides want to remember everything about their wedding day, well, at least, once they are glammed. I learned that most brides don’t want to remember their appearance before hair and makeup are completed. However, they want to relive the emotions and who they were getting ready with on the wedding day.
What are bridal prep photos?
These getting ready or bridal prep photos are scheduled several hours before the ceremony and right after hair and makeup services are completed. Bridal prep photos typically include a shot list of moments such as:
- Matching robes/pj sets with the bridesmaids and sometimes the mothers, aunts, Godmother and grandmothers
- Popping confetti or champagne toast
- Mini dance party
- Creating an IG reel or Tiktok
- Opening gifts or letters
- Recording vows or love letters with the videographer
- Getting into the wedding dress with the help of mom/aunt/maid of honor/grandma/Godmother
- Bridal portraits in the getting ready room
- First look with bridesmaids
- First look with a father figure

How long are bridal prep photos?
Bridal prep wedding photos by Suess Moments Photography typically last 90 minutes but can be cut shorter if there is no bridal party.
