I did wedding photography at SS Farm and Brewery in Nassau (upstate) New York which is about a six hour commute round trip from where I live in Brooklyn, New York. The generous couple arranged me to stay at the local hotel for two nights so that I can arrive the night before their wedding in order to avoid any traffic or car troubles. They also contributed for my 2nd night stay so that I didn’t fall asleep at the wheel (thank goodness!) on the night of their wedding.
As I Skyped the couple in the initial consultation, they let me know that they were the FIRST wedding to take place at the brewery! I take that back, the owner’s daughter married there first, but Claire and Mike (this couple) were the first “wedding clients” of the venue! How cool is that?

The space is extremely fitting for a wedding of 100 + guests with a tent rental. As the guests arrive to the dirt paved roads, there’s plenty of parking. Guests should be forewarned that the females who usually rock stilettos with their dress, should definitely opt for a chunky or flat shoe option as there isn’t a paved solid path between the ceremony and reception parts of the venue. However, the venue does provide a chauffeur service via golf cart especially for the young and elderly to / from the ceremony in the large field overlooking the mountain ranges. Besides that, if you’re planning to get married here, do expect a special guest interruption from the local cows moo-ing during “i-do”.
In case of rain, this couple decided that they rent a tent and dance floor for their reception area (luckily no rain conflicts on their wedding day)! The reception tent area had enough bench seating for their 100 + guests which surrounded the dance floor. The vibe of the SS Farm and Brewery wedding was very farmhouse / vintage and perfect for Pinterest-perfect wedding photography moments. The grounds of SS Farm and Brewery is so large and well designed for large events, they even have a stage and sound equipment for bands to perform. In addition, the ‘Farm had a fun children’s playground and space to play catch the football and corn hole as it entertains all ages.

As we all know, SS Farm and Brewery wouldn’t be a brewery without their craft beers and bar space. What’s more cool, is that the owners of the SS Farm and Brewery provided a special touch and renamed some of the couples’ favorite beers to brand with their wedding!

I highly recommend a wedding here if you’re a couple who digs craft beers, family bonding, farmhouse and laid back vibes and views of the mountains. Wedding Photography at SS Farm and Brewery to follow 🙂
