The Brooklyn bride on her wedding day wanted photos of her getting ready moments in her apartment, like her wedding dress hanging in the window with downtown Brooklyn views, her wedding rings in her hand picked purple bouquet, her Betsy Johnson blue bottom wedding shoes, and natural candid moments with her wedding guests who came to hang out before the Brooklyn City Hall wedding ceremony.
Brooklyn City Hall Elopement | First Look
Once everyone was ready, we headed together in a normal NYC cab to Brooklyn City Hall. As you can probably tell, it was raining on their wedding day but smiles couldn’t be washed off anyone’s faces. You will notice below that there was a first look moment between the bride and bride to be (same sex couple) sharing the moment with their adorable nieces in front of the Brooklyn City Hall.
Getting to the wedding ceremony inside the Brooklyn City Hall requires everyone to go through security and a short walk to the waiting room to register for a wedding ceremony. When we arrived, there wasn’t much of a wait on a Wednesday afternoon. I believe we waited less than 60 minutes! Once the certificate was signed by the officiant, we headed out to the wedding taxi cab rental for wedding photos around epic Dumbo Brooklyn spots!
Rain on a wedding day, especially in Dumbo, Brooklyn was an absolute blessing in disguise! No people in the background or asking to move for the best wedding photos. The cab driver knew of all the best places to take photos around Dumbo, Brooklyn. We got photos in front of the NYC skyline, inside the wedding cab rental, at Washington Street and in front of the historic Brooklyn Bridge. It was like a ghost town!! So perfect because the rain did lighten up in time for wedding and elopement photos.
