A moody-film-style engagement photos session at their NYC home

Moody-film-style photo editing

My normal editing style is a bit more bright, natural, and film-like because I like to dehaze the photos highlights and darken the blacks. For this engagement photos sessions, the couple wanted a more moody edit. Which required me to darken the images, lower the contrast and the whites to make their skin look more tan and whites less bright. Perhaps, you may like this style of editing! What are engagement photos used for

Most of the time, the couple plan to use their engagement photos for their:

• Save-the-date invitations
• Wedding website gallery
• Engagement party invitation
• Wedding guest book album to write notes in
• Framed photos around their cocktail hour and reception
• Welcome signage
• Artwork around their home

 

How long do engagement photos take

My answer is simple. Between 1 to 2 hours for 1 to 2 outfit changes and one at home location. Sometimes, couples opt to adventure around the block for a variety of storytelling images. Others, like this one, stuck to their NYC apartment rooms and kept the same outfit on. This session took about 90 minutes.
