When, What, and Why Golden Hour?
Golden hour is about one hour before sunset or within the hour after sunrise. You can check sunset/sunrise time by talking to your Suri, or if you have an Android, yell “OK GOOGLE” and ask “when is sunset on ___” . Don’t have a phone handy? Try google searching it 😉
Golden hour is when the sun appears golden, and when it’s peaking between tree branches and leaves, it tends to create a beautiful glow effect. Keep scrolling to see golden hour photos below.
Where to book a photo session for golden hour photos?
Places like mountain ranges, deserts, beaches, parks… you name it, they will have bomb gold hour. Concrete jungles like Manhattan can be quite tricky to see the stellar sunset and glow. There are only a few particular hotspots like W 72ND Street/ Central Park and anywhere along the Hudson River. My favorite iconic spots for golden hour photo sessions in New York City are in Brooklyn – like DUMBO and Prospect Park and Coney Island!
