This is a blog post featuring a winter wedding on the 19th floor at the Bellevue XIX Hotel in Philadelphia, PA. This wedding took place on the entire 19th floor including the iconic Pearl Room (ceremony), Rose Garden Room (reception) and The Cameo Room (cocktail hour). As a NJ wedding photographer, I do travel to Philadelphia, PA for weddings at the Bellevue XIX.
Winter season, December
This popular historic and elegant Hyatt Hotel is located in the heart of download Philadelphia, PA – you can valet park at the Hotel and take the elevator up to the 19th floor for the wedding event.
Although glam services are not allowed in the bride and groom getting ready suites, it’s important you grab a hotel room in the Bellevue for that and for the bridesmaids to get changed in to their gowns. Arrive in the elegant large bridal suite for portraits and getting in the dress photos before walking down the aisle. The groom suite is massive with plenty of window light and views of the city. In this room the guys can get ready and dressed here.
It was winter, so the couple did not want to go outside for photos. We were also challenged by time since the sun was setting and we only had an hour to capture all the group photos and clean up the ceremony space before the reception. As I learned from this experience, I now advise couples to do a first look on their wedding day and take care of all portraits pre-ceremony so they can enjoy their cocktail hour and mingling with guests without photo shoot disruptions and more time for a stress free experience.
This is a stunning, elegant, all white, historic wedding ballroom reception, a perfect place for a winter wedding held on the 19th floor at the Hyatt’s Bellevue Hotel (XIX) in PA. For this winter wedding, they had African traditions and celebrated special dances and gift exchanges during their wedding reception.
