As a wedding photographer since 2017, I have tried different online cloud storage services and I found SmugMug to be the best, most reliable and most affordable photo storage option for photographers and clients who want to keep an unlimited amount of photos safe.

Comparing unlimited photo storage options

Tips for photographers when backing up your client photos

- First step is to keep your SD/CF memory cards stored safely and do not format until the client’s gallery has been delivered. I use this small cash binder with zipper pockets and label maker to keep memory cards safe while editing a client’s gallery.
- Do not rely on online cloud as your only photo backup solution. Keep your RAW and edited images safe on an external hard drive. I trust:
-
- Lexar 4TB *fast uploads
- Lexar 1 TB *fast uploads
- Seagate 4TB
- Toshiba 2 TB
3. After storing your images on an external hard drive, back up to an online cloud, like SmugMug.
4. Then, share your client galleries with Pic Time.
