The bride didn’t wear white to her wedding because she wanted to honor her aunt and wear her black and white untraditional wedding dress.
The bride chose not to wear white to her wedding as a way to honor her aunt and wear her black and white Escada wedding dress. She looked stunning in the black and white satin vintage wedding dress by luxury designer Escada, styled like a vintage Barbie doll with her hair up in a classic ponytail. The wedding took place on a cold February weekend in Columbus, Ohio at the Athletic Club, surrounded by beautiful snow in the downtown area. The indoor wedding was comfortable for all the guests.
We began the photos at the bride’s aunt’s home, just 15 minutes from the Columbus Ohio Athletic Club wedding venue. Before the ceremony, the bride and her father shared a private first look moment on the grand spiral staircase leading to the ceremony. The ceremony itself took place in the library on the 2nd level, in front of a grand fireplace and bookcase, with a mix of unmatched and untraditional florals reflecting the couple’s whimsical and simple style. The cocktail hour and dining were held in separate spaces, and the ceremony space was transformed for dancing later in the night. We used the fireplace backdrop for most photos with family and the bridal party.
