My thoughts on The Barn at Villa Venezia

I do love how large the grounds are, with a beautiful outdoor space and an ultra-modern barn wedding reception space inside. Don’t get confused, since there is a 2nd option (upstairs/2nd floor) for another event to take place. I am speaking for the wedding reception space held indoors on the bottom floor. Extreme high ceilings and furnished with long tables, think, Harry Potter.

Although I am not a fan of two weddings/events happening at the same location at the same time – The Barn does make it feel seamless where the guests/couple don’t seem to cross paths with the others.

Typically I am the main shooter for wedding days – but I also help out other local photographers as their second. At this New York wedding at The Barn at Villa Venezia, I was the 2nd shooter, not the main photographer – Alex and Jully Photography hired me to help out! I started the morning taking photos of the groom prep in his hotel room nearby: Marriott, Residence Inn in Goshen Middletown, NY

Then we headed over to the Barn for the first look and portraits around the venue before the wedding celebrations began! I really focused on capturing family members and whoever the couple interacted with. My job as a photographer is to anticipate and capture all the sweet moments. You will notice a lot of candid wedding photos in this gallery.
