Central Park is located in the heart of Manhattan. It’s where tourists, locals, visitors from New Jersey, and photographers gather to explore the “outdoors” in the middle of the concrete jungle. Most couples I photograph in Central Park love taking photos in these iconic locations.

My (Suess Moments) photography style is known to make my couples FEEL the moment and capture how they REALLY are as a couple. I guide my couples into poses and correct posture throughout the session. I give them prompts to re-enact and play a little to bring out their inner child, so it’s undeniably fun. Some couples bring props to add a storytelling aspect in their photos. Summertime in Central Park is full of LUSH green foliage, boats on the lake, singing and dancing around strangers, crowds cheering, and romantic picnics around sunbathers. Some tips and reminders you should note about a summer engagement photo session in Central Park:
- It’s so humid – be prepared to bring a change of clothes to change into after the shoot so you can feel dry
- Bring oil blotting wipes in case you tend to get oily skin
- Bring tissues to wipe your partner’s sweat off his/her/they face.
- Opt for short sleeve or sleeveless tops to avoid sweat stains on clothes. Very difficult to edit out later. However, if your partner is wearing a suit, typically hard to see sweat stains.
- Wear bug spray – mosquitos can be relentless.
- Don’t wear the color green or yellow – being surrounded by the lush greenery can make you blend into the scene or the photos can look “sickly” if you wear the color yellow. Opt for blue/reddish/pink/lavender tones instead.
