I am a wedding and engagement photographer based in Jersey City, NJ and I was looking to photograph a couple in the local area with its iconic New York City (NYC) skyline views. The perfect Jersey City place for the engagement photo shoot was Exchange Place, NJ.

The Old Hollywood-Inspired Mood Board

Before I photograph couples, I like to collect Pinterest photos and Instagram screenshots of poses that inspire me. The photos in the mood board below are old Hollywood-inspired examples of the poses and overall vibe I was looking to photograph. Because we had a vintage car, 1966 VW Karmann Ghia coupe, to work with, I looked for photos with a vintage car for inspiration. This also leads me to contact my cousin, owner of The Shameless Collection, to help style the photoshoot with one of her elegant velvet red burgundy dresses. Lucky for me, I have connections to some incredibly talented makeup artists and Alexis was available to provide full glam. Last minute, I had Owen from River Run Films join the team to capture an incredible video of the engagement photoshoot.
