How much does it cost to have a wedding at Majestic Elegance Punta Cana?

I asked this question to the bride the day after the wedding because she knew how I wanted to get married in Dominican Republic. She shared that the wedding ceremony and reception for under 50 guests cost her about $7,000. As you read this, things can change. Everything is determined by a guest count and time of year and custom experiences/decor/vendors you wish to have. Because this resort was all-inclusive, all guests who attended had to stay on the property and they can all drink and eat every day at NO cost.

 

The good and the bad of the Majestic Elegance, Punta Cana wedding

Let’s begin with the “bad” first.

• The bride and groom’s wedding attire was delayed to get to the hotel room from the laundry concierge. Which delayed photographing them in their outfits on time.
• The bride was told she would be picked up at a certain time by a golf cart and taken to her first look – well, she waited almost 20 minutes and the golf cart never arrived so she had to walk. It wasn’t that far of a walk. Just annoying since she was told one thing and never got what she was promised.
• If you have foot, ankle, knee, or hip problems – walking on sand for long periods can be a struggle – so prepare and bring comfortable shoes you don’t mind getting sandy
• Because the wedding is on the beach and at a resort – there will be resort guests curious and photobombing photos. You have to be okay that it’s not completely private.
• It was very windy at night and the photobooth struggled to keep it’s backdrop up
• Mosquitoes are relentless. Overpack your bug spray!

Let’s end with so many positives!

• Every guest who enters the resort is treated like royalty. Not the traditional way for a check in process.
• Did I say, it’s all-inclusive? Meaning every guest can eat and drink whenever they want and as much as they want?!
• Mid February, we escaped the winter in the North East and arrived to Punta Cana to 70s-80s sunny days! It was magical.
• The planner/coordinator met with us the day prior to the wedding and did a rehearsal and walk through. Super friendly!
• The coordinator team will help decorate the wedding ceremony and reception
• The coordinator/planner is the officiant too
• Every staff member we encountered was super sweet, approachable, and spoke spanglish
• They have a vendor list to choose from to make your wedding dreams in Punta Cana come true. Like this couple hired their vendors: DJ, lighting with dance floor, photobooth, bar, catering, cake, videographer, florist
• The DJ played music the couple specifically requested. I went to the DJ at one point and requested a song (i don’t know if it was on playlist already) and he played it almost instantly for me
• The resort guests didn’t crash the wedding and no security had to be called to kick anyone out haha
• The bartender was having fun with the wedding party that he even allowed the bride to go behind the bar and pretend bartender for some photos. You can tell how much everyone was having fun!
• The rooms at Majestic Elegance are very spacious, cool in temperature, the showers were nice, and beds very comfortable
• The ocean water and beaches were clean and the water warm and clear!
• Sunrises are the best here at Punta Cana’s Majestic Elegance
• Nightly entertainment shows around 8PM
• Daily entertainment at the many pools they have and beach activities

 

We started the wedding day with a sunrise photoshoot

As part of the couple’s story – they were waking up to just watch the sunrise on the beach alone together. I asked them at their rehearsal brunch if they planned to watch sunrise tomorrow (aka the wedding day) and they said YES! I had the idea to offer them a photoshoot at sunrise on the beach and they agreed to the idea 🙂
