“I don’t even know how to describe Miranda’s talent and professionalism. Booking Miranda as our wedding photographer was the single best decision my husband and I decided to do. She was with us every step of the way making sure she understood our vision and gave us the most detailed and organized wedding timeline to ensure we got all our getting ready photos, family photos, and action shots. Not only is she insanely talented but she is one of the sweetest people I have ever met. By the end of our wedding, she felt more like a friend than anything else. I can’t wait to see all our beautiful photos but know from what we have seen so far that we will be absolutely blown away. Thank you for everything you have done for us, and for anyone reading this book Miranda for your event you will not be disappointed, she is the absolute best!” – Cortney
In this blog, I am trying something different – I am not only sharing photos – but also going to give you an inside look into the wedding day photography timeline flow for the Independence Day wedding at Glen Cove Mansion. Let’s start with the basic information you need to know about a Glen Cove Mansion wedding.
200 Dosoris Lane, Glen Cove NY 11542
Wedding vendors came from all over Long Island, NYC and New Jersey to be at the Mansion at Glen Cove wedding. The talented team really pulled through and created an enchanted wedding theme for Cortney and John!

I arranged 2.5 hours of bridal prep portraits as the bride had extra personalized requests to document on her wedding day. She wanted bridal portraits in robe, creative portraits with her bridal party of 12, first look with family and bridesmaids, photos with her puppy, opening a gift from her groom, and bridal boudoir portraits. I could have easily added an extra half hour for this – but we were able to get it all done in time for the first look with her groom outside the glen cove mansion.
The groom wanted special portraits with his groomsmen in the pool/bar room and first looks with his parents + opening a gift from his bride so I had organized an hour and 15 minutes of photos so that the 2nd photographer didn’t feel rushed and had room for creativity.
If you watched the behind-the-scenes video, you will hear the loud music in the background during some of their portrait sessions at the Glen Cove Mansion. This is because the Glen Cove Mansion booked a day party event at their pool before the wedding start time. The original plan was to do the first look in front of Glen Cove Mansion, but the noise was not okay for both video audio and the music was too distracting for the couple’s sweet moment. The videographer and planner decided it would be best to adventure out to the field, far away from the venue, to do the first look there. The sound was softer, but it was the best we could get. As a result of this unforeseen issue, we did have less than an hour for portraits.
During this part of the photo timeline, I wished I had added more than 30 minutes for their session as that wedding party was a pretty large group count. This means we needed more time just to pose and direct + get everyone’s attention. For a group of this size, I would have liked an extra 15-20 minutes.
We started the ceremony downstairs in a designated room with Neil Cantor, while intimate family witnessed the signing of their marriage license. Immediately following, the outdoor ceremony at Glen Cove Mansion took place under a tent to keep the guests out of the sun. The visuals on the wedding day were absolutely breathtaking because of the beautiful design by the floral team! Both ceremonies + time to freshen up/prep is about 2 hours.
WOW! What a wedding night – so beautiful and special just for this couple who worked so hard during the pandemic. They really needed this day to be perfect for them! Their planner, Deborah, really was on top of it all, making sure all the decor looked right, she was super attentive and sweet to the couple and vendors, and made sure the timeline ran smoothly as possible! Hiring a planner/day of coordinator to run the wedding day show is a must!!
The entertainment on their wedding day by Phoenix Entertainment NYC slayed it with their performers throughout the night. Not to mention, the incredibly talented live band who kept people dancing all night long! By the end of the night, we did a sparkler exit out the front of the Glen Cove Mansion. Only 15 people showed up to participate in the sparkler send-off, while the rest of the party went to the after-party and their rooms for the night.
