Crystal Point Yacht Club wedding photos gallery by Suess Moments – a photographer based in New Jersey
Crystal Point yacht club is a fantastic place for an outdoor wedding with water and marina views.
The wedding venue is located at 3900 River Rd, Point Pleasant, NJ 08742
While visiting this venue, the management did NOT allow anyone inside the building until an hour before the wedding ceremony – although that was frustrating for the photography team (we needed a place to set up our gear), there was a hotel next door where the bride was getting ready which made it convenient for getting ready portraits.
Keep in mind there is NO shade for the wedding ceremony – so the sun can directly be hitting your face and cause squinting – If it ends up being a “cloudy” day then this won’t be much of an issue. Sunglasses may be appropriate for the wedding party and officiant.
As a photographer, I do recommend planning your wedding ceremony 90 minutes to 2 hours before sunset.
Groom prep took place within 5 minutes from the wedding venue – it was a location where the groom grew up as a child so it meant a lot to get ready there.
Some of the highlights from the groom preparation portraits were moments with the groom’s dog he rescued (cute pitbull) and champagne popping photos in the backyard!
Bride prep was in the hotel next door to the Crystal Point Yacht Club – although I was not the MAIN photographer (I was 2nd shooting this wedding) – I got some bridal portraits and that included moments of the bride with her niece and first look with her father.
First look between the bride and groom, followed by portraits outside the Crystal Point Yacht Club. At this time of the portrait session, the venue still didn’t allow the photographers nor the bride and groom inside the venue (very odd to have this rule) but we managed to find some shade and great spots for photos as we waited to go inside.
Pre- ceremony photos inside the crystal point yacht club. I always recommend my couples plan to take care of ALL the portrait sessions with friends and family BEFORE the ceremony as it makes the timeline flow easier and allows the VIPs to enjoy the wedding day festivities after the ceremony.
The outdoor wedding ceremony at Crystal Point Yacht Club. As you can see the officiant is wearing sunglasses and it was a very bright sunny day so a lot of harsh shadows on the face and squinty eyes since it was so bright out without shade. Keep this in mind when planning an outdoor ceremony and possibly renting a tent or creating shade with an altarpiece + fabric to the structure. Also, think of your guests and provide them fans to add shade over their eyes or cool them off as they bake in the sun
The wedding reception inside the Crystal Point Yacht Club ballroom is so beautiful with lots of window light coming in with views of the water/marina. During the reception, the sunset was happening so the photography team pulled the bride and groom for 20 minutes to take portraits at the marina dock nearby. Afterward, the couple was able to enjoy the rest of the night as the photo team captured candids.
Nighttime / Sunset wedding photos of the bride and groom took place on the marina dock during the reception.
