Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, my wedding photography contracted services will not ever be an issue for brides planning a wedding. I never wish upon a bride the stress-induced from planning a wedding all by themselves. Let alone COVID to make it worse. Please read more about how I support the COVID bride.
Some brides have to deal with bad weather, other brides have to deal with wedding party drama, and today’s brides have to fear the COVID-19 pandemic affecting their wedding plans. In March 2020, I read articles and social media posts that brides literally got the cancellation of their dream wedding the night before they walked down the aisle. I also heard of brides who still eloped during the pandemic and had a zoom / virtual wedding but plan to celebrate after the coronavirus pandemic blows over. Ironically, a bride planned her wedding for two years and now has to wait even longer to get married. Although some brides already have a wedding date booked fall of 2020, they cannot reschedule until 60 days out. The worst part is who knows if the new time they want will be available?! It’s loads of stress for the COVID bride planning a wedding.
I want brides to know, during this pandemic, and every day after – I changed the ways I operate my wedding photography business to provide an exceptional experience for 2020-2021 brides affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Before the pandemic, the retainer/deposit for wedding photography services was 40% of the package’s total cost. Due to the coronavirus pandemic and taken effect immediately for 2020 and 2021 weddings, I am accepting a small $500 deposit/retainer fee to secure wedding photography services on your wedding date. If your wedding date is affected by anything like the coronavirus pandemic (“COVID-19”), the $500 deposit you made can go towards your future wedding date. If I happen to unavailable for your new wedding date, (“HAKUNA MATATA”), you can use the $500 for a future family, maternity, event photography services.
According to CNBC article, it claims that nearly half of Americans are unemployed. Some of which can’t get unemployment. I feel that because I am one of those furloughed workers (I had a regular 9-5 job before the pandemic). I am unsure if I will ever get the opportunity of stable income and health insurance ever again once the quarantine is over.
The payment plans are for every couple who books wedding photography services. After the $500 deposit/retainer payment, we can work on a plan that works for them. I am giving couples up to 90 days after their wedding date to pay off the remaining balance. Although, please note, photos will not begin an editing process without full payment.
More than ever before, couples will choose to plan intimate weddings and elopements both during the coronavirus pandemic. I have restructured my photography collections for those couples. Read more about how to have an intimate wedding and elopement in New York City:
