Plenty of parking for your large wedding count!!
Although back-to-back weddings/events happen at the Madison Hotel on most days, this is something you need to keep in mind when planning one here. This is because your planner/decorator/florist/DJ will need to know how early they can enter to set up, so they don’t interfere with another wedding or event before yours.
It’s me! The only female on the left is hugging my boyfriend/assistant. We chose to wear matching sage green suits to go with the wedding theme. Alvin (middle) is our 2nd photographer for this wedding day – he handles groom prep and ceremony photos at different angles. Some of his photos are featured in this blog. On the right is James of @jlcreationstv – He’s a videographer that the couple hired! We all worked very well together as a team 🙂
Remember that I (the photographer) created the custom timeline several months in advance. Even with much planning ahead of time, things can go wrong and put us behind schedule. Sometimes it’s best to have hired a planner to help with keeping the day flowing! The Madison Hotel does provide a day of coordinator to assist a the ceremony and reception – but they are in charge of keeping the venue/catering team on schedule. While your coordinator for the wedding will be the liaison between all vendors (DJ, PHOTO/VIDEO, CATERING, FLORAL, DESIGN, ETC.).
As usual, I like to arrive on wedding days 1-2 hours early to prep my photography gear and meet the family and friends before I begin taking photos. On this wedding day, my cousin (who did the bride’s makeup: Shameless Beauty), called me an hour-ish before I arrived, warning me that the makeup was behind schedule because there was an issue. She told me several important signage pieces went missing: The name cards for the seating chart, the bar signage, and the R.I.P table sign. I told her not to worry and that I have graphic design skills and could help design everything she needed before the ceremony!
My boyfriend, Greg, who happened to assist me this day, was a faster typer than I was and assisted me with typing all the names on the name card design templates I created. I then designed the R.I.P table signage, and we found a copy of the bar sign by G.C. Lettering to reprint too. John, manager of the Madison Hotel, saved the day and told us we could use their fancy printer to print out QUALITY (accurate color) prints using our cardstock paper (I sent Greg to pick up cardstock paper from Staples). We had it ALL ready to go JUST IN TIME before I had to begin the photos. We were maybe 20 minutes behind schedule… but it all worked out and gave the bride/family peace of mind!! Photos below of the designs we helped with. As a result, I started my DIGITAL DESIGN (YOU CAN get INSTANT PRINT) Etsy Shop!
