You have the power to save a small business and freelancer during COVID-19 / Coronavirus pandemic. You’re not only going to save a small business itself, but also the human beings who operate them. They have the responsibility to keep a roof over their children’s and fur babies’ heads.

As a wedding photographer in the highly affected industry of small businesses in America – I am reading about wedding vendors being cancelled, rescheduled, and who returned deposits out of generosity. Not only wedding vendors being affected by the Corona Virus (COVID-19) pandemic, but also freelancers and small businesses such as: hair stylists, theatres, restaurants, performers, designers, makeup artists, florists, spas, airlines, hotels, wedding venues, sports,…etc. Let’s talk about how you can help support a small business through what may be the next recession –
There are two ways to save a small business or freelancer during the COVID-19 / Coronavirus pandemic – One way is by purchasing a GIFT CARD. Another way is by leaving a 5-star review. Once the pandemic has been cleared up, you or whoever owns the gift card can use the service with the business you helped stay afloat! (YOU ANGEL, YOU!)
Your hair may need a cut or hair refresh from winter to summer locks, your nail beds will be over grown, or your face may need that facial it’s been longing for…

Eventually, you will see a professional beautician; this is the perfect time to purchase a gift card directly from the freelancer’s / small business’ website or contact them on instagram about how to purchase one! Easy-peasy lemon squeezy! They may even offer you a priority appointment as soon as they open their facilities again or an exclusive discount for supporting their business during this time of crisis. Just ask!! 🙂
Your opinion matters, and most people buy based on previous experience by a trusted acquaintance or friend / family member. Online source states that 93% of consumers say online reviews have an impact on their purchase decision. The best part? It’s a FREE way to save a small business during the COVID-19 / Coronavirus pandemic.
Because you’re taking action to save a small business during the coronavirus pandemic, you’re truly about to make the owner(s) of the business the happiest human(s) alive. (You freakin’ angel- we love you.)
When writing your review about your favorite local restaurant, grocery store, stylist, pet groomer, etc… consider these 4 easy points to talk about in your testimonial:
Try Google search first. If you can’t find them there, that’s okay. Contact them directly either by Instagram or Facebook message, and ask them where they prefer a review? Most small businesses / freelances will be seen on these outlets and will be notified once you spit words of pure infectious love.
Once you hit “submit” in the review, I bet you $20 bucks you feel an instant sense of gratitude for doing good in the world. Seriously. Thank you!
The events that have been cancelled, most likely they have a reschedule date. For example weddings, the couple will have an option to reschedule to a new date.
the rescheduled wedding date is available for all original vendors the couple had booked so there should not be ANY issues with the deposit.
the rescheduled wedding date may become unavailable for some vendors to reschedule as they already have other commitments made, thus, couples may be presented with the following options (if not, give it a-go and request them.)
because the vendor still did their job in holding the date and made time for the client in communication and preparing for the wedding. Most contracts state no refunds, but with big hearts, vendors will give a partial one. As a wedding photographer I am giving 75% refunds out of the retainer/deposit.
one of the best ways to support a small business is by accepting the wedding vendor’s credit option as it still funds the small business to do it’s profession. Likely, the client will be to apply the credit towards future event photography, family photo shoot or even give as a GIFT! Think of credit as a GIFT CARD. (You become a hero.)
this means, client won’t have to stress about finding a new vendor, rather the original vendor booked can find a comparable vendor in their place on wedding date and perform the same services. Most likely, the originally booked vendor will offer a discount as they won’t be their on wedding day. At least that is something I would do. 😉
So you came here to learn about the exclusive offers and ways to support your favorite photographer?! 😉 Aww Thanks! Ilu.
